Say hello to Lewis, our digital marketing intern

As the youngest member of the Big Think crew, Lewis has never known life pre-smartphone, he's always used social media, if he can't stream it then he doesn't watch it, and he even knows the names of famous YouTubers! Is it any surprise that we thought he'd be a great addition to our Digital Marketing team? 

What made you want to go into marketing?

All through my school years I was really interested in all aspects design, although it wasn’t until my last year at school when I decided to take the marketing route. I attended a few digital events and it was then that I started to look about for the right starting platform in my career.

What made you choose an apprenticeship over university?

I liked the idea of working alongside professionals in an agency. I felt I would rather get thrown in the deep end and experience what life at a digital agency is like, rather than go through a school-like approach all over again.

Why did you choose Big Think for your apprenticeship?

When I was offered an opportunity to work at Big Think, I jumped at the chance. I knew that I would be given the best hands on training, working alongside experienced people who know exactly what they are talking about.

What kind of projects have you been working on?

I’ve been looking at all aspects of digital marketing, including generating social media content for clients as well as completing reports on how clients’ SEO is performing and how their website is ranking on Google. I have also been spending time looking at the Big Think brand, posting social content on various channels and interacting with potential clients through social. 

What have you enjoyed most so far?

I enjoy being put in charge of companies’ social media platforms, which requires me to create unique content for different clients and their needs. Every client is different and that is what is challenging, but really enjoyable.

How do you hope to benefit from your apprenticeship?

I hope to gain as much knowledge about digital marketing as I can over my two-year apprenticeship, gearing me up toward progressing through my career in digital marketing.

What do you like doing when you’re not working?

When not in work, I enjoy going to see DJs with my mates, just about EVERY weekend.
